In theory, the SK2-F Ltd. would make a good alternative to an 05, and for an attractive price. I recently bought an 05, but I doubted a long time between these two. Any FF problems from the original SK-2F should have been fixed (FF V.2), and th emixer is remarkable for its many features of course (3-band eq, optical scratch switch, curve + reverse on ups, cue/master switch...). The only problem that I could think of, is the sound output, which hasn't been changed (I think) from the sk-2F. the sound output from an 05 is superior. AND once again, it's all about preference: maybe you'll like the ultra-loose Focus fader, or maybe the heavier Vestax PCV fader.
BUT don't trust my words too much, as I haven't actually tested the Stanton yet.

So far it's one of the craziest and most inspiring mixers ever!!! But at least there are a few things you should know:
- the peak meter of my sk2f only displays gain up to max. - 4db. The master gain is loud enough, but the 'low' displayed level on the peak meter is quite irritating...
-some of the first focus faders came with a fucked up crossfader, but meanwhile they fixed that... Be careful, cause some shady resellers might rip you off with older faders.

That's it. Everything else on this mixer, especilally the crossfader, is just DOPE!!!!
The cf is definitely the smoothest and slickest ever!!! Unbelievable cut-in time...

Only thing that messed up on me so far is the crossfader cap, not the actual stem, but the cap that you move, stripped or somethin, i dunno how, but it like fell off when i was skratchin, so i switched it with a linefader cap and it fit fine on the linefader, musta been cause it has two stems, oh well, whatever, it still works perfectly after i did the switch, i love it

I'm soooo glad I bought this mixer. The Focus fader is amazing. So much, it makes ME sound amazing. It's so smooth it feels like I'm cheating. This mixer took my skratching to whole notha'

Even with my loudest record the peak meter only indicates -4 db (Gain put to max).
I called my local store, and they said that the problem is already known, but, so far, I would have to get used to it...

I have a focus fader for my Stanton SK-ONE, the cut of time is unbelievable almost unnoticable. The only thing was I was messin with it today jugglin and skratchin and it seems to be that it is startin to get stiff I dunno? I love my stanton its perfect. I have never used a Vestax so I can't compare. (Ramiro)

Consider the Stanton sk 2f a PC with a 2 gigahertz cpu and yourself somebody who uses it for games ,Word and Excel. You're not gonna need anything else for a long long time. For real... (Palm Pilot)

I am the proud new owner of a Stanton SK-2F. The Focus Fader is THE SMOOTHEST. Seriously. You can move the fader just by blowing on it. Also, the cut in is so short & sharp that sometimes I don't believe that it's cutting off.
If you haven't tried it, find a store that carries them and test it out. And if you do buy one, don't pay more than $319.

YO...i have the the first Sk 2....very hot mixer with great features (but) the
downfall is the low output, which is very important.
