DJ
WARRIOR - ILL STREET DUES (HOSTED BY GLASSES MALONE & TALIB KWELI)
Damn this is my kind of mixtape! DJ Warrior is back with Ill Street
Dues 3. I remember getting part one a while ago and that shit was bangin.
It opened with the Kool G. Rap "Ill Street Blues" track. The mixtape
was full of classic shit, but back to the mixtape at hand. Im loving the
artists Warrior got on this mixtape; Ras Kass, Talib, E40, Keak, Jay Z, Cormega
the list goes on and on. The mixtape most definitely brings you the best from
each region. From LA, NY to The Bay and even The South. With Talib and Glasses
Malone hosting the shit, you cant go wrong. Oh, by the way, did I forget to
tell you that its a double disc?
Warrior jumps straight into the mixtape with Ras, Talib and Planet Asia on "Ill
Street Dues", now tell me that aint conscious rap at its best. Cormega,
"LA to N.Y.C" was a decent track but I wish it was longer. The beat
for Glasses Malone "Two Hunned 06 RMX" was that slap! The type
shit you just want to put in your ride and bang til your subs blow up! What
I like about Warrior is that he puts alot of LA cats on his mixtapes. He stays
reppin his area hard! Thats a lost art with some DJs today. I also liked
the abundance of Bay Area rappers on the mixtape. Damani and Keak "Gotta
Get Paid RMX" and E40 and Keak "Tell Me When To Go" was like
candy to my ears. Then back to LA we went with Suga Free, 40 Glocc and Weasel
Loc with "Bitches on Point", which is a hot track. Shit even the homey
Balance from Oakland made an appearance with "Gotta Get Paid". From
Cali we kept it moving to NY! Dj Muggs, Gza, Masta Killa, Prodical Sunn on "Unstoppable
Threats". That shit took me back to Liquid Swordz days. And we all know
a Westcoast mixtape isnt complete without Snoop, Daz and Kurupt. They
blessed us with "Real Soon". With 64 tracks you cant go wrong!
The diversity on this mixtape is what makes it so unique. And thats mainly
why it deserves a "bangin" status.
