2/7/2011 Doc Ish – The First Treatment Intro feat. Chrissy Kriss, Billy Danze (M.O.P) and Royal Flush: Was longer then it came out I had to cut like three mins off…There was a lot more skits then just the hospital one. My engineer Bill and I tried to make it sound as real as possible with only six hours to deadline. My life story...last minute man. (laughs) Hi Kidz feat. Joell Ortiz: I had reached out to Joell Ortiz to bless “The First Treatment” and set it out. “Guru Rest In Peace” beginning just felt needed we thought to pay homage to a legendary group, company and person. Guru wasn’t on any major magazine covers or nothing right after he passed. That’s some industry bull shit! Is It A Dream feat. Joe Budden, Talib Kweli, Sean Price and Angelica C.: Talib wasn’t feeling the first joint I sent him so I made this with B. Burroughs singing, “Is it a dream” that same day (with Kweli in mind). Each one wrote their verses on the spot, at different times. I saw a future classic in the making. I wish I hadn’t of lost all that video footage of the making of it. Angelica C. was going to Trinity Collage near my studio and told her I need a hook..something different. She Did It Again feat. Crooked I, Billy Danze and DJ Stress: I made this with the Akai MPC 2000 chopping up samples and playing live keys over top of it. A few heads tried to buy it before I put it out but after Crooked I got on it first…I said “Hellll nahhh” I’m keeping this for the Album. A bunch of heads wanted to jump on this one and “Is it a Dream”. I wanted to keep it short and simple.   No Goodbyes feat. Apollo Swyf (of the Abnormals) and B. Burroughs: This song was made on the spot. I was making the beat while B. Burroughs was behind me on the couch writing the hook and Swyf was pacing around the studio writing his verse. When Burroughs jumped in the booth and started doing that little thing before the hook, it energized Swyf and he jumped in right after him and murdered it. There was a version with Nature (Queensbridge) also. These Streets feat. Max B, Red Cafe and Quan: Max B fell in love with the beat right away and just started humming and told me “Doc, record it”, then he would layer that with a few words. Then layer it again with a few more words. And by the time he was done we had like 12 tracks for the hook. He would hear the hook in his head as he went along. It was crazy. I was thinking either mad drugs or super talented. (laughs) He’s definitely talented as hell with the construction of his hooks. Free Max B! Skys are Grey feat. Quan, Mic Geronimo and Ras Kass: I started off with a simple beat and recreated the beat with live instruments after Quan laid down the hook. This is going to my next single I put out, just waiting on finishing up the video right now. This ones, just one of those songs for when it feels like the sun isn’t shinning down on your day. Mic Geronimo had called me and he said “Yo, I think this is one of my favorite verses ever”. Skit feat. Nice: Nice is part on my In Ya Head Camp. Nice is always starting freestyle sessions beat-boxing classic beats. He’s Apollo Swyf’s Cousin and between him and my brother Chris, they are the hip-hop historical archive of In Ya Head. Nice is always on all my compilations. It’s tradition. And is beat-boxing is always needed. F.O.H: (Fuck Otta Here) feat. The Abnormals: Something everybody has said at one point or another. We’ve had this concept for, like, 10 years. Colloso was always on me on making a beat for The Abnormals that would be in your face for F.O.H. We had a lot of fun with this one. I wanted this to be real grungy, rock style. Animal Grammar feat. KRS-One and B. Burroughs: This is one of my oldest beats, I’m talking like 10 years ago. And when KRS-One somehow heard this one. He was like Doc this is one. I tried to sway his mind (laughs) with some new joints and he laughed and was like “Nahh, Doc, trust this is the one.” “Sometimes simple is better”. He was right. That’s why he’s the Teacher and I’m still a student. This was one of my most memorable moments. When he tagged me with Scott La Rock, at the end of his second verse, everybody in the studio’s jaws dropped. Cut My Throat feat. Ransom, Quan, Saigon and Inspectah Deck: Very controversial track. The ironic part of putting this song together was, Ransom went first, then Saigon, then Rebel INS (WU-Tang). Which was the exact order of Joe Budden’s YouTube online beef battle wars. And the joint was recorded way before Saigon and Joe started beefing. So everybody thought ‘Damn, Doc, did you put out a ‘get at Joey track?’” And the answer is Hell no! Joe’s my man. I don’t get into that high school drama BS. Quan didn’t sing “If it’s F-me then it’s F-you” talking about anything else then something Quan was going through. I love this beat, probably one of my favorites. I was trying to get Jadakiss on it in the beginning, ‘cause that’s who my man, producer Hillie Hill and I heard on it.   Scriptures of my Life feat. Mic Geronimo and Champagne Tripp: Featuring Charmange Tripp, singer/writer on Eminem’s “We Made You” hook. It’s funny I initially made this joint for Billy Danze’s album, but he sat on it too long (laughs) and Mic and I had a long session that day. I think he wrote like four different verses that day to “Scriptures of my Life”. We are shooting the video for this one right now as we speak. I love this joint and think Mic Geronimo is one of the most underrated emcee’s. We have a lot coming for 2011, Mic and I.   U Like, They Like feat. Samuel Adams: I had a whole lot on my mind when I mad this one. My man had just passed so I was trying to place myself somewhere sunny (Florida) taking my mind out of gloomy Hartford and came up with this. Since I was working with Angelica C. who went to the same college Sam Adams did, they where singing his songs all the time in my studio. So I was asking them who hell is that, they hooked us up. And I knew that Sammy was labeled the Auto tune man, but I knew he had it in him to come very strong without all that. And he did. I loved it. A real party track. Make Movez feat. Buckshot, Rockness (Heltah Skeltah) and Colloso: I originally made the original version of the beat for Make Movez for 50 Cent, but gave it to Buckshot. When I was in the studio with Buck recording. Rockness tapped me on the shoulder and it was the first time for me meeting Rock. He was one of my favorite artist when I was an artist. So when Buck hoped out the booth he told Rock u need to jump on this with me. Colloso of The Abnormals was with me so he wrote his verse while Rock was recording. It was set to go on a Duck Down project but I wanted to put it on mine and remake the beat to make it different, so I did. U Make Me Stronger feat. Kool G. Rap and Ma Barker: This was one of the first love storytime songs G Rap had ever did and I got him to do it which was hot but he was still lyrical killer Kool G Rap on the song. (laughs) He doesn’t ever plateau ever. He’s was actually on a few more joints and a lot artist always would ask “I know how you and G Rap get down is he on this song”. Cause if he was they knew they had to come with they A-Game. It was funny. Liza Colby wrote and sung the hook, I loved it. Woke Up This Morning feat. Doc Ish and The Abnormals: There’s a long story behind this song but it involves sex, drugs and violence. The Abnormals threw me in the booth and I freestyled the hook. There was a few beats to that song. The video is crazy! Once people see the video I think they will see the vision of the reality of this song.   Let Me Breathe 1999 feat. DNA: This was a song that Apollo Swyf and I did when we got signed to our first label deal. The label went under so we were released and shopping around for a new deal w/ Wendy Day. And a famous f****** rap artist’s label heard the song and stole it and put it out as his single. I will let you guys try to guess. This song I had to put out.
