Up-and-coming phenom Wale was recently asked by DJ Mark Ronson to join him on an overseas tour. From small clubs to huge festivals, the experience looks to be very promising for D.C.’s Wale.
“My manager got an early morning call from Mark Ronson asking if I’d like to go on tour with him in the UK to help promote his new album Versions,” Wale told HipHopGame. “It’s Mark Ronson, so you know if he’s going to be involved, then it’s going to be great. I’ve never been to the UK, but I know I have fans over there. I’m so excited to be part of something this big in another country that is a little more forward-thinking than the U.S.”
Wale also hopes the experience will help him expand his fanbase. “I am trying to capture t hat Dizzee Rascal, Streets, Lily Allen fanbase over there,” he says. “I can’t think of a better opportunity than doing that under the umbrella of Mark Ronson.”
Wale is currently putting the finishing touches on his latest mixtape Hundred Miles And Runnin’, which is scheduled for release in May or June.
