The codification of turntable technique, that is, the placing of traditional musical notation onto paper, is something that's only recently begun. DJ Radar of Arizona's Bomb Shelter DJs included a score for his "Antimatter" with the record, while a turntable graphic representation, the TTM, or Turntable Transcription Metholodology, is now available online (http://www.battlesounds.com). Radar and DJ A Trak also presented this notation system at the 2000 Skratchcon summit in San Francisco, A Trak is currently working on a book on scratch notation.

Steven Webber, a longtime music producer and DJ, has been developing this instructional style while teaching at the Berklee School, and is currently expanding it into a full class for an as-yet undecided school.
Although basic, this book is intented to inform the readers on how to pick their set up but also to give tips like the plastic paper under the slipmats, how to match beats and the main part : scratching.
The scratching part is probably the most interesting since it describes all the advancements like flare or crab. The book comes with 2 records so you can practice at the same time with some real examples.
Overall, this is an original package for those trying to break into turtntablism; it provides all the basics and gives some really interesting tips. Much props for recognizing the turntable as an instrument !.
